[Also in Division B5] An electrical heating element is made by positioning electrodes 3, 4 on a layer 2 of glass or polyester resin fabric coated with carbonloaded conductive silicone rubber, and then bonding this layer to a similar layer 1 by the simultaneous application of heat and pressure. The electrodes may comprise stranded wire, braided wire, foil, conductive paste or metal depositions, and may be positioned in any desired configuration. Layer 1 may be of insulating material, and the element may be secured to a sheet or sandwiched between sheets of fabric or textile. A modified element construction, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), comprises a single layer of coated fabric sandwiched between two sheet-like electrodes made of aluminium or copper.
