In a rolling mill for the production of bands or strips from granular or pulverulent materials the breadth of the gap between rollers 1, 3 is defined by two rings 7, one on each roll, the rolls being relatively adjustable axially with respect to one another to effect adjustment of the breadth of the gap. Each ring 7 is pressed against the opposing roller by an internal spring element. Each ring may have a boundary plate extension and be angularly located by an adjustable stop.
