Apparatus for rolling metallic particles into strips or sheets comprises a feeding hopper (2, 8) whose side walls (8) are spaced apart by a distance such that the particles spread out so as to fill the roll pass, but will not push their way out through the gap (6) between collars (1) or the like at the ends of the rolls. Subsequent edge trimming is thus eliminated. The distance between the hopper side walls (8) may be variable.
