Abstract

1,029,300. Packaging machines. AKERLUND & RAUSING A.B. April 5, 1965, No. 14437/65. Heading B8C. A horizontal slide 16 (Fig. 1, not shown) cuts off a string of ice-cream or similar material extruded from a filling shoot 4 as the shoot is retracted from within a container 2. The shoot 4 passes through a hole 17 in the slide 16, and when the slide is retracted a part 18 of it closes the bottom of the shoot as in Fig. 2 (not shown). Whon the container has been filled and the shoot closed, the slide and shoot are raised slightly (Fig. 3, not shown) to allow the filled container to be removed by a conveyer and a fresh one positioned. A continuous supply of ice-cream from the freezer and an intermittent supply to the filling shoot is produced by the equalizer 8 together with a cock 12 opened and closed by the vertical movement of the shoot.
