Abstract

1,152,235. Discharging containers by tipping. PRESSOTURN Ltd. 23 Sept., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965], No. 41662/65. Heading B8E. A hopper 10 pivotally mounted at 24 receives a container having a discharge opening and a displaceable cover therefor at or adjacent its bottom side wall for discharge by tipping through a stationary shoot 23. The shoot 23 has an opening surrounded by a horizontal flange 24 provided with a sponge rubber or other sealing gasket 27 which is sealingly engaged by a flange 18 of the opening of the pivoted hopper in the horizontal plane during discharge. The weight of the container thus assists the sealing during discharge. The sealing gasket may be provided on the flange 18. The hopper is tipped by tackle engaging an eye 26 but other suitable means such as rams may be used.
