Abstract

1,029,272. Plastics tubes. ROBINSON PLASTIC FILMS Ltd. Feb. 15, 1963 [Feb. 15, 1962], No. 5842/62. Headings B8C and B8K. [Also in Division B5] A flattened plastics tube open at one or both ends has another layer of plastics of the same width but shorter than the tube, situated at its centre and heat-sealed to the edges of the tube and transversely to one wall of the tube. In the form shown the additional layer 3 (Fig. 4, not shown) is external to the tube, heat sealed transversely at 4, 4 and has a line of perforations 5 between the seals. The tube may be used for two balls of wool 8 and is closed by a tin tie or ring closure 9 through which a single strand of wool may be drawn. If only a single wool pack is required, the pack is severed along the perforations 5 and the pocket 7 turned inside out and slipped over the end of the ball to close the tube. The layer 3 may alternatively be provided inside the tube. The Specification also describes a machine for making the bag (see Division B5).
