[Also in Division B2] A motor-driven pump 18, outside a hydrotherapeutic bath, circulates water to a nozzle 46 which is swivellably mounted in the bath. Preferably, the mounting base for the nozzle is detachably secured to the bath waste outlet and has an inlet 84 for the water returning to the pump. The circuit of electric motor 20 may be completed through a timer switch and a pressure-sensitive switch 154 which allows the pump 18 to be operated only when the bath water reaches a certain level. The discharge from pump 18 passes through conduit 100 to the interior of valve member 68 and thence to nozzle 46. Air may be drawn through pipe 50 into the discharge jet. A rate of flow adjustment or a complete cessation of the water fans may be effected by screwing nozzle 46 towards boss 44. The flow of air may be adjusted by rotating cap 54. Water flows through the inlet grating 84 and wire gauze 104 to chamber 88 and through conduit 96 to the pump. Any escape to the waste line, through conduit 92, is blocked by the lowered gate valve 108. In order to empty the bath by means of pump 18, the nozzle 46 is turned through 180 degrees. This turns valve member 68 so that the flow of water from conduit 100 is directed through port 124 into conduit 94 and thence into the waste line. On reaching the level at which switch 154 is actuated, the pump motor is de-energized and the remaining water may be drained through conduit 92 by raising gate valve 108. In a first modification (Fig 9-11, not shown), the bath is emptied by the pump through the same route as that through which the residual water is drained. This may be further modified by arranging the pump and motor beneath the bath (Fig 12- 14, not shown). The bath overflow is connected to pipe 30 and discharges through port 114 into the waste line.
