Abstract

1,027,110. Electric conductors. E.M.S. 'ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS Ltd. March 11, 1965 [March 14, 1964], No. 10889/64. Heading H1A. [Also in Division H2] The walls 13 and 14 of an insulating sheath of inverted channel cross-section supporting a conductor for a travelling tapping, which, as shown, is of S-shaped cross-section, are prevented from separating by limbs 20 and 21 of an inverted U-shaped hanger, and abutments 27 and 28 on the inside of said limbs lodge against the diverging sides 18 and 19 respectively of a bead 17 on the outer top side of the sheath. Ribs 15 and 16 and curved portions 13b.and 14b of the sheath hold the conductor in place. The hanger is secured to a support by a bolt whose stem 23 passes through a hole in the bridging portion 22 and whose hexagonal head 24 has two opposite flats in contact with limbs 20 and 21 to prevent its rotating. The limbs are caused to grip firmly sides 13 and 14 of the sheath by a screw 25 and nut 26 arrangement. Alternatively the hanger may consist of two identical coatings as in Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) bolted together, each section having a ridge which engages with one of the said diverging sides of the bead 17.
