Abstract
1,024,536. Utilizing wave energy; reciprocating pumps. S. ROSENBERG. Sept. 25, 1964, No. 39157/64. Headings F1A and F1S. A means for generating power from sea waves comprises a generally vertical plate 13, as of steel, pivoted at its base to a support member or dock, stop means 16, 18 on the dock to limit the pivotal movement of the plate, and means connected to the plate for generating power as the plate is moved by the waves. The stops 16, 18 have resilient covers as of rubber. The plate 13 is mounted between a pair of dock posts 10 and may have a weight attached near its top. Two pumps 21, each pivotally arranged between the plate and a dock post 10, are actuated by the oscillatory movement of the plate. Each pump receives fluid via a flexible pipe 40 and delivers it through a flexible pipe 41 to a separate or common receiver for generating power. The dock posts may be mounted on floats. The pivoted joint 15 and those at the ends of connecting links 28, 29 may include roller bearings or the like.
