Abstract
1,024,232. Supporting heating elements in electric furnaces. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 25, 1963 [April 18, 1962], No. 15116/62. Heading H5H. A suspension system for supporting heating elements 9 in a furnace having a lining of refractory bricks 1 comprises a series of pre-formed suspension hooks 3, 4 having bent inner ends B anchored in stepped portions of slots 10 formed in the faces of bricks 1 so that the shanks A of the hooks 3, 4, when in position lie within open sided slots 5, 6 in the face of one brick and alongside the plane face of an adjacent brick. Slots 5, 6 and 10 at its deepest have sufficient depth d (Fig. 3, not shown) to clear the length of bent ends B. The ends B are fed along slots 5, 6 until they abut against the larger wall of slot 10, the shanks of the pins are then rotated through 90 degrees and the ends B dropped into the stepped portion of slot 10.
