Abstract

1,023,606. Respiratory appliances. WALTER KIDDE CO Ltd. Sept. 25,1964 [Oct. 1, 1963], No. 38558/63. Heading A5T. The subject matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 1, 023, 605, but the claims are concerned with breathing apparatus comprising means supplying a metered quantity of oxygen at each inhalation, a demand regulator 2 and an inspiratory valve 3 for entry of ambient air, the inspiratory valve being biased closed by a light spring 32, which is overcome when the inlet passage 18 to a lacepiece falls below ambient pressure and the valve being connected to a pressure-sensitive member which is exposed to the oxygen supply pressure and closes the valve until the oxygen supply pressure falls below a predetermined valve.
