Abstract
1,022,986. Date indicators. G.E. DUNNING. Sept. 14, 1964 [Sept. 19, 1963], No. 36923/63. Addition to 979,420. Heading G3T. The perpetual calendar of the parent Specification is improved as to (a) the means for operating the micro switch 6 and (b) the means for displaying the day numerals. Switch 6 is operated by a Maltese Cross device comprising the cross 101, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) which co-operates with a raised edge 103a of a disc 103 on an hour shaft of a clock, and is rotated 90 degrees each revolution by a finger 102. A pin 105 on a shaft carrying the cross moves a lever 5 each half revolution to close the switch. The lever is resilient so that the clock can be turned back when desired. The day numeral drum is modified in that half of each day numeral appears on one plate and half on the other plate, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). Also, two spring catches 106 fixed to the side plates 15 support the lower plate in aligned position and are pushed aside by the links 23 as the drum rotates; these limits are assembled one by one through a slit in a sleeve surrounding the drum, the holes in the drum ends being open to the periphery and the sleeve finally being secured.
