Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1022955/C2/1> wherein -(CH2)mis a C1-7 straight-chain alkylene group, acid addition salts thereof, and their preparation by reaction of an amine of formula H2C=CH-(CH2)mCH2NH2 with an S-(C1- 7 alkyl) isothiourea. 5-Hexenylamine is prepared by reaction of 5-hexenyl iodide with potassium phthalimide and hydrazine hydrate. The compounds of the invention have hypoglycemic and cardiovascular activity and may be used in pharmaceutical compositions in combination with a carrier, for example in forms suitable for oral or parenteral administration, such as capsules, tablets, dragees, solutions, suspensions or emulsions.
