Abstract
1,022,821. Making switches. TELETYPE CORPORATION. Dec. 4, 1962 [Dec. 14, 1961], No. 45728/62. Heading B3A. [Also in Division H2] A switch is made by forming a conductive sheet 18 of predetermined configuration on an insulating sheet 17, the configuration including an inner uninterrupted collector ring 66 connected by a neck 65 to an outer uninterrupted annular portion 64 having a plurality of integral terminal connector portions 54 . . . 63, perforating slots 81 in portion 64 to form contact segments 71 . . . 80, and mounting a rotary brush assembly 27 comprising brushes 32, 33, for sequential engagement with the contact agents and continuous engagement with the collector ring 66. The edges of the contact segments are deformed slightly such that brush 32 never bridges two segments but drops slightly from one to another as it rotates. Terminal connector portions 54 . . . 63 extend to one edge of sheet 17 and are notched at 70 to form terminals along the edge.
