Abstract
907,130. Centrifugal switches; interrupters. BEREX ESTABLISHMENT. April 20, 1960 [April 24, 1959; July 10, 1959], No. 13788/60. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXV] A centrifugal interrupter switch comprises a rotatable casing 31 of insulating material and a cam 32 which is fixed to the end-cover of a generator. The time during which contact is established between arm 30 and earth, that is, between cam follower 35 and the lobe of the cam, varies as a function of the speed of the generator. An adjustable insulated stop 34 limits the movement of the arm 30 and prevents the follower from engaging the lower portion of the cam during the open-circuit periods. A sparkarresting resistor 36 is mounted on the casing 31. At high speeds of the generator, the arm 30 is separated completely from the cam 32.
