Abstract

1,021,984. Arc lamp electrodes. SOC LE CARBONE-LORRAINE. Oct. 27, 1964 [Oct. 31, 1963], No. 43868/64. Heading H1X. A carbon arc lamp negative electrode 12 or 13 has at least one end formed with a spigot or recess of the shape shown. A new electrode 13 may thus be attached to a working electrode 12 by a force-fit joint. The portion 16 of electrode 12 breaks off when burning proceeds past the contour 13a but the arc is immediately re-struck to the point 15 of electrode 13.
