Abstract

1,020,705. Ventilators. BARBER-COLMAN CO. Feb. 11, 1964, No. 5755/64. Heading F4V. An air diffuser comprises a ring 14 for attachment to the end of a duct 10 of circular cross-section by screws 16 and a tube 30 mounted on the ring so as to be rotatable about the axis of the ring and about an axis perpendicular to the ring axis and located substantially in the plane of the ring 14. As illustrated, the mounting means comprises two rings 21a, 21b which may be brought together by screws 26 to grip the ring 14 and a pair of diametrically opposed trunnions 22 welded at 29 to the tube 30. The tube may be orientated within a cone of an angle of approximately 30 degrees by rotation of the rings 21a, 21b on the ring 14 and by rotation of the tube on its trunnions. Further tubes 32, 33 are mounted inside the tube 30 with equal radial spacing by members 34 which may be flat as illustrated or in the form of rods. In a modification (not shown) the trunnions may be fixed with respect to the rings 21a and 21b and be journalled in the tube 30.
