Abstract

To avoid the use of gudgeons in drafting apparatus when the bottom roll is supported and the rolls are magnetically loaded and have laterally spaced working-surfaces, the top and bottom rolls are relatively positioned by a support which is connected to the frame, has a curved surface riding on the bottom roll between its working-surfaces and a projecting part engaging the top roll between its working-surfaces. The support is bolted to or on hooked engagement with a member secured to the frame and is deep enough to project into the neck between the working-surfaces of the upper roll while the projecting part comprises a pair of horns which may abut the steps formed by the pole pieces of the upper roll.
