Abstract

Cyclopropane is isomerized to propylene in a fluidized bed of SiO2-Al2O3 cracking catalyst which bed contains a plurality of non-catalytic hollow bodies each having a plurality of perforations therein and being substantially free from projections into the hollow interior thereof. In examples, air with 1% cyclopropane is isomerized at 175-225 DEG C. and a total space velocity of 300-900 hr.-1ALSO:The process of Specification 1,019,235 is modified in that finely divided particles are used in addition to a plurality of non-catalytic hollow bodies. The fluidized bed material may be glass beads, a -Al2O3, mullite or Ni powder.
