Abstract

1,018,253. Rotary feeding valves; delivering measured quantities of granular material. RICHARDS STRUCTURAL STEEL CO. Ltd. July 3, 1964 [July 4, 1963], No. 26541/63. Headings B8A and B8N. [Also in Division H2A] A rotary feeding valve for mounting below a hopper containing granular material comprises a shell 15 having vanes 16 and an electrical driving motor 19 mounted within the shell and supported from one end thereof, the motor driving the shell via gearing 46, 50, 51. The shell is rotatable, at one end of a fixed shaft 28 formed integrally with an end plate 38 of the motor 19, the other end of the shell being provided with an end cap 25 rotatable in a cover plate 12 secured to the casing 10 of the valve. The rotor spindle 40 of the motor 19 is provided with an eccentric portion 44 which rotates a double gear 46, 51 meshing with teeth formed in an end plate 45 of the motor and the end cap 25 thereby rotating the shell. The inside of the shell is partly filled with oil for lubricating the gears.
