1,018,162. Disc brake. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct. 29, 1963], No. 42701/63. Heading F2E. A disc brake is characterized by a handbrake actuating lever 10 pivoted to a chordal plate and provided with a toggle linkage 14, 15 connected to the plate's pivot pin 9, permitting brake application by a pull substantially parallel to the plane of the disc. The brakeactuating cable 18 is connected by a fork 16 to the toggle joint. The lever 10 may act directly on the brake applying thrust member or (Fig. 4, not shown) a roller 25 may be disposed between a hardened steel slipper 26 and the member 22. A sealing gland 23 and a flexible boot 27 are provided.
