A vehicle roof rack comprises a base made up longitudinal rods, tubes or the like 10, 13, Fig. 3, and transverse rods, tubes or the like 11, 12, and at least four legs for supporting the bore on the roof, wherein each leg comprises two members 1, 2, side by side which are united to form a flattened end extruding generally vertically and adapted to be secured in a rain gutter by a clamping assembly 5, 6, 7 and 8, the horizontal parts of the members 1, 2 being adjustably secured to the longitudinally extending base members 10, 13 by clamps 14, 15, each having upper and lower portions secured by bolts 16, 17 and nuts.
