Abstract

1,016,993. Typewriters. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Sept. 14, 1964 [Sept. 28, 1963], No. 37427/64. Heading B6F The keyboard of a typewriter is arranged in two parts each part has keys arranged in a concave form, Fig. 2, the surface of which is swept by the finger tips when the fingers are bent with the hands at rest, each row of keys being arranged along an outwardly opening spiral curve 18, Fig. 8. The general direction of the columns of keys is at an angle of 30 degrees to a line normal to the platen and the centre columns are higher than the outer ones. Rests are provided for the heels of the hands.
