1,016,980. Ferrous metal presence detecting apparatus. HONEYWELL Inc. Sept. 17, 1964 [Sept. 25, 1963], No. 38043/64. Heading G1N. A ferrous metal object detecting arrangement comprises two magnets 13, 14, placed side-byside with their poles mutually reversed, a magnetically operated electric switch 16 adjacent the two magnets so as to be influenced by both, and a ferrous member 15 placed adjacent one of the magnets to reduce the amount of movement of an object necessary to actuate the switch. The switch is glass enclosed, and the ferrous member is adjustable relative to the magnets by screws 15a. A normally open switch is referred to.
