Portable spirit stores.-A portable cooking- apparatus comprises a lamp burning solidified spirit, together with a saucepan and a stock of cartridges of fuel. Fig. 1 shows a lamp consisting of a body a with a lid a<1> seated upon the bead a<3>. The lid a' has a cylindrical aperture a<4>* and a conical nozzle a<4>, closable by a lid a<5>, where the spirit burns. The outer part of the lid a' has a series of inlets a<6> controllable by a similar series of apertures in a rotatable beaded-on plate or cap a<7>, to admit air to the reservoir and to the burning vapour. The fuel may be run into the reservoir a, but preferably is run into a separate loosely-fitting container x, shown in dotted line, thus forming cartridges or refills. A deeplydished gallery b, with orifices b<1>, fits upon the part a<4>* of the lid, and forms a support for a saucepan c with two curved half-handles c', c<1>*, which may be folded back against the sides of the saucepan. The saucepan is such as to serve as a receptacle for the lamp. Fig. 5 shows a larger stove with a detachable handle a*, a conical nozzle a<4> with a screw or other stopper a<5>, and a gallery b adapted to receive the lamp, the whole, if desired, being arranged to pack into a saucepan.
