Abstract
1,015,641. Transformer arrangements. B. KIRSCH, [trading as FIRMA ELEKTROMOTOREN KIRSCH]. Dec. 6, 1962 [Dec. 6, 1961; July 24, 1962], No. 46196/62. Heading H2H. [Also in Division H1] A variable current supply is obtained from output terminals 4 by using two transformers A, B whose secondary windings 8 are connected in parallel and whose primary windings 7 are tapped and connected through a multi-contact switch 11 to the mains supply 2. Closure of any one or any pair of the switch contacts energizes the corresponding winding or windings, parallel connection being effected in the latter condition. Members A, B, 11 together with associated condensers and/or resistors are fixedly mounted in a common insulating housing, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) four transformers of the same or different current rating are used, their secondaries being in parallel and their primaries, which in this case are untapped, being connected to a multi-contact switch so that the transformers may be energized individually or in parallel. Typical current values are given for various switch positions. The arrangement of Fig. 5 provides additional switches 31, 32, 33 for the divided and tapped primary windings of transformers A, B, C, so that each pair of windings may be connected in series or parallel combination according to the value of the main voltage supply 2. These combinations may be energized individually or in parallel as before.
