A textile flyer having a hollow leg 2 on which rotatably mounted a presser 1 has a part-annular guide member 6 of wear resisting material associated with the lower end of the hollow arm. The guide member is preferably mounted on the presser 1 and may as shown form one of the bearings by which the presser 1 is located. Only the guide member or the guide member and presser needs to be replaced when the guide member becomes worn. A slit is formed in the guide member to permit threading up.
