Abstract
A composition comprises a major proportion by weight of a synthetic organic high molecular weight compound and, as an antistatic agent, 0.1 to 7% by weight based on the weight of high molecular weight compound of at least one dithiocarbamate of the formula <FORM:1014151/C3/1> wherein R1 represents a methyl group or hydrogen, R2 represents an alkyl radical containing 12 to 18 carbon atoms, M represents a metal or a metalloid and x represents an integer equal to the valency of M. The antistatic agents may be mixed with the polymer, or, in the case of epoxy resins and unsaturated polyesters, mixed with the polymerizable composition and then hardened.
