Abstract

1,013,694. Rail - vehicle driving gears. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIVUND MASCHINENFABRIK. Sept. 3, 1962, No. 33721/62. Heading B7H. A bogie of a rail traction vehicle with a motor on the vehicle body has transmission mechanism 4 mounted on a central transverse axis of the bogie with a cardan shaft input 3 and an output connected by reversing gearing and a longitudinally extending train of spur gears to the axles 1. The axles are driven from the cardan shaft through bevel gears 5; an hydraulic torque converter 7 or 9 and corresponding spur gear pair 8, 12 or 10, 13; shaft 11; clutch-controlled forward or reverse drive pinion 14 or 24 driving pinion 16 of the train of spur gears in casing 15 and resilient couplings 19 which accommodate misalignment between the spur wheels 18 and the axles.
