Abstract

101,326. Perkins, J. C., and Perkins, G. W. May 29, 1916. Lighting-torches, non-electric.-Apparatus for lighting cigars, cigarettes, &c. comprises an oil lamp with an additional reservoir containing methylated spirit or other inflammable liquid, and a torch having absorbent material or wire-gauze at one end, which is dipped into the inflammable liquid. The torch is ignited by the burner of the lamp. In one form, the reservoir c, Fig. 2, containing inflammable liquid is arranged within the oil reservoir b, and bell-mouthed tubes c' enable the torches to be inserted in the liquid. Parts of the handles of the torches are coned to fit the bell-mouthed ends of the tubes c' in the inserted position. Fig. 3 shows the lamp adapted to be secured to a wall or other surface, the reservoir e', in which is arranged the reservoir for inflammable liquid, being secured to a plate e.
