[Also in Division B5] An injection moulding or die casting machine has one or more devices for clamping the mould parts 21, 22 together, each device comprising a support 1 with a bolt 25 at its upper end to define a fixed jaw, and a sliding base member 4 on which is pivoted a lever member 3 at the lower end to define a clamping jaw. When the mould is open the clamping jaw is to the left (Fig. 2,. not shown). When the mould has been closed by other suitable means the base member 4 is pushed to the right by hydraulic fluid introduced into a cavity 18 through an inlet 14. When the base member has moved to the right (Fig. 1), an exit passage 20 from the cavity 18 is opened and the hydraulic fluid flows into a cylinder 6a and pushes down a piston. 6 on which is a piston-rod 6<SP>1</SP>. A nut 7 at the upper end of the piston-rod 6<SP>1</SP> engages the lever member 3 and pulls it down so that it pivots about a fulcrum pin 5 and exerts a closing pressure on the mould parts at its end 204.
