Abstract

1,012,408. Dispensing beverages. CANADIAN BREWERIES Ltd. Aug. 9, 1963, No. 31463/63. Heading A4T. In a method and device for dispensing beverage, e.g. stout, from a store 10, a vent valve 20 is opened to allow dispensing directly from vessel 14 under gravity, or low pressure air or carbon dioxide acting through reducing valve 42 from container 40 to force relatively flat stout through check valve 16 into conditioning vessel 14 until its level is about one inch from the top after which valve 20 is closed. Valves 28, 29 are then opened to pass carbon dioxide in 26 and an inert gas, e.g. nitrogen, in 27 as fine bubbles through a porous head 22 to condition the stout until the pressure guage 30 indicates about 100 p.s.i. The conditioned stout is dispensed through valve 34 under a controlled pressure drop until a fob is produced in the container after which valve 34 is closed and valve 38 opened to dispense flat stout directly from store.
