Abstract
1,011,900. Locking stay. F.T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 30, 1964 [Oct. 9, 1963], No. 39832/ 63. Addition to 1,000,997. Heading E2F. A locking stay comprises two members 11 and 12 pivotally connected at 21, Fig. 7, the overlying surfaces of the members being provided with slots 13 and 14 adapted to contain a double ended pawl 15<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 9, the operation of the stay being as described in the parent Specification and one or both slots being formed by pressing the members thereby providing covers 13<SP>1</SP> and 14<SP>1</SP>. The pawl is yieldingly constrained to retain its instantaneous orientation relative to the members by a spring 24 acting on cap 23 thereby pressing the pawl against covers 13<SP>1</SP> and 14<SP>1</SP>. Fig. 6 shows a stay wherein only the slot 14 is pressed out providing cover 14<SP>1</SP> and a boss 16<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4 (not shown) is riveted to the members the boss being provided with a slot 19 which accommodates a spring 20, Fig. 5 (not shown), the spring when in position bearing against one side of the pawl.
