Abstract

1,011,791. Hinges. G. OSPELT. Nov. 2, 1964 [Feb. 19, 1964], No. 44650/64. Heading E2F. A hinged door, e.g. for the fire box of an oil-fired boiler, is supported on a movable member 8 of the hinge by pins 30 extending through the door 15, the annular space between each pin and its hole 31 containing a pair of nested sleeves 32, 33 having co-operating tapered surfaces each having at least one longitudinal slot 36. When a nut 35, fitting on the end 34 of the inner sleeve 32, is tightened the pin, sleeves and inner wall of the hole are forced into tight engagement. The pin 30 may be provided with a pin 38 engaging a recess 37 in the inner sleeve.
