[Also in Division F2] An insulating pack for the interior of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel comprises individual substantially flat metal foils 1, 2, 3 held apart by elongated dimples 4, 5 formed in each foil and arranged in such a pattern that it is impossible to draw a straight line across a foil without passing through a dimple. The dimples, of semi-circular cross-section, are press-formed in the same direction relatively to the original plane of each foil. The dimple pattern is the same for each foil, and to avoid nesting the foils are arranged so that the pattern of one foil is orientated at 45 degrees from the pattern of adjacent foils.
