Abstract
1,010,770. Loading load-lot containers. AUTOLAVA OY. Nov. 1, 1963 [Nov. 7, 1962], No. 43264/63. Heading B8E. A vehicle with a chassis 22 has a detachable body 23 provided with rails 25 mounting at their front rollers 36. The body can be supported on the ground by rear and front pivoted supports 30, 34, Fig. 5, so that as the chassis is backed towards it the rollers 36 and rails 25 engage sloping plate-like guide ramps 40 which guide and slightly raise its forward end until the rails pass over rollers 46 of the chassis which can be power driven. Further rearward movement of the chassis causes the rails to pass over the rollers 46, which are then free to rotate, until it tips downwards to rest on rollers 50, 51 raised by hydraulic jacks into an operative position. The body can now be moved forwards by the rollers 46 which are driven by an hydraulic motor until angle irons 57, 58 and a latch 55 engage cross members 26, 27, 29 between the rails 25 to lock the body in position while at the same time the rollers 50, 51 are lowered so that the body 23 rests firmly on the chassis 22. This movement pivots the rear supports 30 to their stowed horizontal position, Fig. 1. The guide ramps 40 converge towards their front end so that the rails 25 are guided into correct alignment with the rollers 46 which are also flanged to provide guiding means. To unload the latch 55 is withdrawn from engagement by hydraulic means and the rollers 50, 51 are similarly raised.
