Abstract

1,009,738. Railways systems. O. OHRNELL. July 9, 1963 [July 13, 1962], No. 27205/63. Heading B7L. A railway system has cars 1 propelled along a track 4, 5, 6 by conveyer screws 3 which drivingly engage the cars, and a track section 7 which is inclined and which carries a latch 8 which, when raised by an electromagnet 11, stops a car on section 7. A spring loaded arm 10 moves under the latch to hold it raised. The section 7 can then be rotated in a horizontal plane to allow the car to run off on to track 6, a fixed abutment moving arm 10 from beneath the latch 8 to allow it to fall to a release position. The section 7 can also be raised and lowered vertically to permit a required operation to be performed on an article suspended from car 1. The electromagnet 11 can be energized to raise the latch under the control of abutments on each car.
