Abstract
1,009,346. Colour filters. DURST S. p. A. BOLZANO, FABBRICA MACCHINE ED APPARECCHI FOTOTECNICI. April 17,1964 [April 22, 1963], No. 16066/64. Heading G2A. A colour filter assembly comprises two guides, both mounted transversely with respect to a central aperture for the printing light, each guide carrying a pair of filters which can be movable separately into and out of the light path, the arrangement being such that only one filter of each pair can be in the light path at a given time, and such that each filter can be retracted only so far as to lie just outside the light path. The arrangement is described in connection with a projection printer. As shown, the first pair of filters are a yellow filter 3, fixed to a flide 7, and a magneta filter 4 fixed to a slide 8. The slides can move in a fixed vertical guide 1,1<SP>1</SP>. Slide 7 extends downwards within slide 8, and is held against the head 21 of a rod 11 by spring 9, the rod being fixed at its lower end. Slide 8 has a rack portion 12 which meshes with a pinion 13. When pinion 13 rotates anticlockwise, slide 8 moves upwards so that magneta filter 4 is gradually inserted into the central light beam aperture while yellow filter 3 is prevented from moving by the head 21. When pinion 13 rotates clockwise, filter 4 is gradually retracted again out of the light path into its original position. If the movement is continued, two stops 14 on slide 8 engage slide 7 and depress it against spring 9, so that yellow filter 3 is gradually moved into the light path. Thus only or other of filters 3, 4 can be interposed in the light path. A second pair of filters, yellow filter 6 cyan filter 5, are similarly mounted in a fixed horizontal guide 2, 2<SP>1</SP>. They are carried by slides 23, 22 respectively, which both have racked portions 16, 15, engaging with a wide gear wheel 19, The arrangement is such that either filter 5 or 6 can be moved into the light path. Since one pair of filters is yellow and magenta, and the other pair yellow and cyan, any two colours can be combined.
