Abstract

1,008,478. Spray-producers. A. M. MOEN. July 1, 1963 [June 29, 1962], No. 26093/63. Heading B2F. A spraying device suitable for use as a shower head comprises a casing 12 having a water inlet 15 and a water outlet 16 and a spray-forming assembly 25, 26 arranged adjacent the outlet 16, the inner spray former 25 being formed with a projecting button 29 adapted to be pressed to provide limited displacement of the member into the casing in order to enlarge the diverging spray openings between the members 25 and 26 and thereby allow sediment to be flushed out of the head. The member 25 is pushed upwardly until its upper surface engages a plate 45 provided with flow-constricting apertures 46 and 53 ; further upward movement is against the force of a spring 49. The member 26 may be similarly moved upwards from the stationary member 21 to allow sediment to be flushed from the diverging spray openings therebetween. The members 21, 25 and 26 may be of a moulded plastic such as an acetal resin. The projection 30 on the upper surface of the member 25 acts as a flow diverter. The spray openings which are arranged in a pair of concentric rings are provided by projections on the members 25 and 26, Fig. 3 (not shown).
