Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1008262/C2/1> (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, Ra represents a C1-7 alkyl group, n is 6, 7 or 8 and A represents an alkylene group containing 2 or 3 carbon atoms and separating the thioimidate group from the N,N-alkyleneimino group by 2 or 3 carbon atoms) and acid addition salts thereof, and their preparation by reacting a nitrile of the formula <FORM:1008262/C2/2> with a C1-7 alkyl mercaptan in the presence of an acid acid, optionally followed by conversion to the free base or a different acid addition salt.
