Abstract

1,007,593. Moulding refrigerator cabinets. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 28, 1962 [Jan. 20, 1961], No. 2416/61. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F4] A method of moulding a refrigerator cabinet comprises positioning a polystyrene liner 11 in a mould 1 in spaced relation with the walls 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 14 thereof, positioning metal outer cabinet walls 15 in the mould in contact with walls 3, 4 and inserting rod assemblies 7, 8 into the space between the liner and the mouted walls prior to foaming polyurethane insulation in said space. The rods 10 of assemblies 7, 8 are mutually perpendicular and those of assembly 7 are positioned in contiguity with the walls of the liner, some of the rods of assembly 8 being positioned in contiguity with one of the liner walls while the remainder contact the rods of assembly 7. After foaming, the rods are removed to leave ducts in the cabinet insulation.
