Abstract

1,007,195. Electric calculating apparatus. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. June 14, 1963 [June 15, 1962], No. 23724/63. Heading G4A. [Also in Division H3] A device for dividing by a number involving a decimal fraction comprises a decade counter for each decimal place and means responsive to these decade counters passing through zero to cut out one of the input impulses to the device or alternately to add an impulse. Input impulses at E are applied through a gate T 1 to a counter Z set to the hundreds complement of the divisor, ignoring the decimal fraction, e.g. 83 for a divisor of 17À5. When the counter reaches 100 an output pulse appears at A. Shortly before this, gate T II is opened to pass pulses representative of the decimal fraction to a decimal counter D3. When the fractions have accumulated to exceed unity a one-slot bi-stable circuit K operates briefly to eliminate at T I one of the incoming pulses.
