Abstract

1,006,813. Control of A.C. motors. KOEFOED, HAUBERG, MARSTRAND & HELWEG, and TITAN A.B. Dec.11, 1963 [Dec. 21, 1962], No. 48871/63. Heading H2J. Asynchronous motors have their stator windings V 1 -V 3 and V 4 -V 6 connected in series, the rotors RO 1 and RO 2 being mounted on a common shaft. Each stator phase winding is shunted by a controlled rectifier e 1 -e 6 , the torques of the motors being in opposition. Thus, if the windings V 1 -V 3 are periodically short-circuited by the rectifiers e 1 -e 3 , the voltage applied to windings V 4 -V 6 will cause rotation in the direction determined by the rotor RO 2 . The motors may have unequal torques and need not have the same number of poles. In another arrangement, the motors drive separate loads.
