Abstract
1334951 Electric motors FUJITSU Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 Feb 1970 (2)] 20833/71 Heading H2A An electric stepping motor comprises a toothed rotor 3 rotatable in an axial air gap formed by a plurality of circumferentially spaced U-shaped stator elements, each stator element, e.g. 5 comprising axially spaced toothed members 6, 7, the pitch of the teeth on each member being the same as the rotor tooth pitch and the teeth of the different stator elements being mutually staggered with respect to the rotor teeth. For a three phase motor, Fig. 3b (not shown), the teeth of the different phases are mutually staggered by 1/3 of the rotor tooth pitch, and in general the teeth are staggered by 1/m times the rotor tooth pitch, where m is the number of phases employed. Each stator element carries windings 8, 9, not shown, and/or a single winding 18, Fig. 4 (not shown). Various constructions of the U-shaped elements are depicted in Figs. 7-11 (not shown).
