Abstract

1,006,311. Tape-rewinding apparatus; ink-ribbon mechanisms. BELL PUNCH CO. Ltd. May 8, 1964 [May 9, 1963], No. 18401/63. Headings B6B and B6F. A rewind spool 8 for a ribbon 10 is supported upon two rollers 2, 3 of low friction material, one or both of which are driven, and is held in a vertical position by guides 6, 7. A motor 5 drives one or both rollers 2, 3 by belts 4. As applied to a transferribbon feed for a data-processing apparatus, the ribbon 10 after leaving a supply spool 11, which is given an increment of movement each time printing is effected, is guided by rollers 14 so as to pass between the platen 13 and printing hammers 12, over a feed roller 15 rotated at each printing operation and thence to the rewind spool 8, which is rotated by the rollers 2, 3 when the ribbon is slack.
