Abstract

1,006,220. Rolling wire. MORGARDSHAMMERS MEK ANISKA VERKSTADS A.B. Dec. 7, 1961 [Dec. 8, 1960], No. 43927/61. Heading B3M. An arrangement of rolling mills for rolling controlled looping on looping tables wherein the roll pairs are placed at such an angle with the straight direction of the rolling material that they follow the shape of the loop between two subsequent roll pairs. Hot wire from a continuous rolling mill train 1 is passed from conventional roll pairs 3, 4 via a looping table 5 through a series of alternately angled vertical and horizontal roll pairs 6, 9 &c. interspaced by looping tables 8, 7b &c. and when at the required size to coiling reels 11 &c. A looping table 35 comprises a curved rear wall 36, bottom wall 37 and front wall 38. The wire is fed from a previous table 31 via a guide 33 through vertical rolls 32 into the table 35 whence it follows the rear wall 36 and passes out via a guide 40 to horizontal rolls 39. In a modification a series of alternately angled horizontal rolls interspaced with looping tables are used. Two wire strands may be rolled, in which case the rear wall 36 of the looping table is stepped.
