Abstract

A polymeric composition comprises a polystyrene or substituted styrene and aluminium linoleate, naphthenate, octoate, resinate, stearate or tallate; the aluminium salt being from 2 to 80% by weight of the composition. The composition may contain a pigment such as carbon black. The aluminium salt may be replaced by iron distearate, copper stearate, zinc stearate, magnesium stearate or zinc octoate. The compositions may be dispersed in electrically insulating liquids, e.g. toluene, dimethylpolysiloxane trichlorofluoroethane, and are used to cure curable resins, e.g. polysiloxane.
