Abstract
Compounds of the formula <FORM:1005027/C2/1> (wherein R1 represents a branched-chain propyl or butyl radical) and non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are prepared by catalytic hydrogenolysis of an acid addition salt of a compound of the formula <FORM:1005027/C2/2> in the presence of an inert diluent or solvent, optionally followed by conversion to the free base. The starting materials are prepared by reducing the corresponding aminoacetylnaphthalene and converting the product to an acid addition salt, the aminoacetylnaphthalene compounds being obtained by condensing a 2-haloacetylnaphthalene with the corresponding amine. Specifications 909,357 and 1,005,025 are referred to.
