Abstract

1,004,804. Clamps. SOC. ANON. SONOBAT. April 7, 1964, No. 14244/64. Heading E2B. Fastening means for securing a corrugated sheet 7 having a substantially dove-tail profile 8 at each of its fastening positions, comprises a pair of pivotally interconnected plates 1, 1<SP>1</SP> each provided with a projection 4 which projections are adapted to form clamping jaws to grip the sheet at one of the fastening positions, the lower part of the plates 1, 1<SP>1</SP> being adapted for attachment to a support. As shown, the plates are pivotal about a rivet 3 and in the gripping position, holes 5, 5<SP>1</SP> are aligned to receive a nail or screw for attaching the sheet and plates to the support (not shown). Interengaging tongues 6, 6<SP>1</SP> hold the plates in gripping position prior to insertion of the nail or screw. In other arrangements, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the projections 4, 4<SP>1</SP> are bent at rightangles adjacent their ends, the holes 5, 5<SP>1</SP> form part of slots through which a fastening strip may be passed, and the tongues 6, 6<SP>1</SP> are replaced by a projection and apertures which are adapted to hold the plates in the gripping position and in a non gripping position.
