Abstract

A natural or synthetic rubber or rubber latex contains as an antioxidant an osazone of the formula <FORM:1004662/C3/1> wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and are hydrogen or an alkyl, aryl, alkaryl, or aralkyl radical which may be unsubstituted or substituted by one or more hydroxyl, carboxyl, or amino radicals, any hydroxyl radical being in the free state or esterified or etherified, any carboxyl radical being in the free state or esterified, and any amino radical being in the free state or substituted by one or more alkyl groups; in which R3 and R5 are the same or different and are hydrogen or lower alkyl groups; and in which R4 and R6 are the same or different and are aryl or alkaryl groups. Other antioxidants and fillers may be present.
